The seaming in the top is amazing, and you can see his lingerie background come into play. I could not decide if I liked or hated this look, but after looking at all of the effort that he put in, I decided to give it a pass. I like the studded belt and the fact that she really tried to make a look from unconventional materials. I like the prints that she made with the wrappers, but they don’t really go together. Nothing about that dress says rocker chick or biker babe. The styling here makes me want to scream, it’s so bad. Overall, though, it is far to simple for Project Runway. I know it is a basic little dress, but something about the softness of the colors, yet vibrance of the metallic is intoxicating. I can’t put my finger on why, but this look sings, if ever so softly.

Though it is a wearable look, which pushes him ahead of Elisa. I need more creativity than this on Project Runway. He went to a candy store and made a skirt suit out of fabric. Maybe that is why I like this season so much, the judges get it right. This is the fourth week in a row that my choice for elimination has coincided with the judges, and 5th in a row where one of my bottom 2 has gone home. And the foil floaties are an enigma that not even Elisa could properly explain. It’s a 3rd grade arts and crafts project done on the most simplistic dress in history. This dress is drab and boring, and could not be used in the real world or in a high fashion fantasy. I want magical art here.Įlisa was, unfortunately, the clear choice for elimination this week. Save those for the real women/retail challenges. I don’t want street clothes, as passable as they may be. When I judge an unconventional piece I want either A) sheer whimsy, or B) a couture looking garment.
